Why Spain?

Whether you are here in Spain on holiday or have lived here for some time you will know that Spain has so much to offer!

With over 320 days of sunshine and the temperature rarely dropping below 15C this idyllic climate is second to none, being voted one of the healthiest places to live.

With its wide variety of Spanish cuisine and its numerous colourful fiestas held throughout the year Spain is still a very cultural and traditional country, and although many areas are now very commercialized and cosmopolitan the Spanish tradition still lives on.

Fiestas can be found nearly every month along the Costa Blanca. Each individual Spanish town and village celebrates its own fiesta at some point during the year, these are an integral part of Spain and they reflect the history and religions of the different areas. Some of these fiestas may only last a day, but many can go on for days and weeks of singing, dancing and celebrating in the array of colours and sounds that these festivals bring.

Spain is famous for its healthy Mediterranean diet – olives, spices, fruit, vegetables, shellfish, meat and rice are the essence of this fine cuisine. These many traditional recipes that use natural ingredients are capable of satisfying the most sophisticated palates.

The numerous Spanish restaurants that sweep the Mediterranean Coast are a reflection on a country where the people love, respect and enjoy good food. And we mustn’t forget to mention the wide variety of regional wines and beers that are available here of such unmistakable bouquet and flavour.

Sport and leisure…

Spain now boasts multiple sports facilities, there are football clubs, sports pavilions, gymnasiums, tennis courts and bowls clubs that cater for all ages and nationalities.

On the Costa Blanca alone there are sixteen championship golf courses with many new courses under construction. Whether you are an amateur or professional golfer you will discover a new, exciting challenge from each course.

With the numerous Marinas that stretch along the Mediterranean Coast you will find cost efficient services available for sailing, yachting and diving, allowing you to explore the magnificent, clear blue Mediterranean Sea. Jet skiing, wind surfing and snorkelling facilities are available on many of the fine blue flag beaches situated along the Mediterranean coastline.

Whether you prefer a leisurely walk in the secluded valleys and mountains or a more energetic sprint along an Olympic racetrack, Spain has the facilities to cater for all your sports and leisure needs.

Travelling to and from Spain is no longer a dilemma. Regular services from all main UK airports mean that travelling here is quicker, easier and cheaper. With the number of low cost airlines rising and the prices dropping you could be over here in Spain in a couple of hours for as little as £60 – less than a night out in England!

And once you’re here, travelling around the country is also a trouble free affair. Brand new motorways join all the main cities together and train services are available in most of the larger towns. There are also plenty of well serviced bus and taxi companies within reach.
